January 20:  Pop-up Book Sale at the Orange Branch. This is an indoor sale from 9am – 1pm. Come in to warm up and browse through Children’s books, adult fiction and non-fiction, puzzles, coloring books and more! All proceeds benefit your library! It’s a great time to stock up on some winter reading.

January 29:  Meet George Needham, Director of the DCDL, at the first Coffee with George event this year! George will greet you at the Orange Branch at 10am. Enjoy some refreshments, find out about the Library’s plans for this year, ask your questions, maybe even take a tour of the inner workings of the library! This is a wonderful benefit for FOL members – check it out!

February 17:  Need more books?  The Powell Branch will host this Book Sale from 9am – 1pm.  We’ll stock this with a great selection for the kids, teens, and adults. Come browse, buy, and benefit!

March 10:  New and exciting!  This is the premier Young Writers Workshop, presented by DCDL. Give your young writers (ages 4-6) a chance to explore the basics of writing and illustrating their own story. The workshops are from 9:30 – 11:30am at the Orange Branch, and 1 – 3pm at Delaware Main Library.  These are led by local illustrator, comic book author and children’s educational presenter, Steve Harpster. Please see the FOL newsletter for more details, as well as all DCDL locations closer to the time of the workshops.

March 12:  Coffee with George, Delaware Main Library at 10am. If you missed the chance to meet our DCDL Director George Needham in January, go for this one!
