On Tuesday, February 19, members of the Library Board of Trustees helped Powell Branch Manager George Morrison cut the ribbon on renovations tothe Powell Branch Library.  Using funds saved during the construction of the Orange Branch, the Library was able to fulfill another levy campaign promise, updating the fixtures and adjusting the layout of the Powell neighborhood library.  The renovation features an expansion of the children's spaces, alcoves to help isolate people who are tutoring or studying alone, and an enclosed computer lab, doubling the number of public computers previously available at the branch.

Members of the Friends were on-hand Sunday, February 24, to welcome the community to their new space, and to introduce the new Friends of the Library signage and fixtures for the vestibule. Volunteers were also on-hand to help people sign up connect their Kroger shoppers cards to the Community Rewards program that benefits the Friends of the Library.
